It didn't hit me until we were in the car heading to the airport that I wouldn't see my parents until August.  Needless to say, I became a little emotional. After all, I've finally reached the age where I actually enjoy hanging out with my parents : ) At the airport, Mom gave me a quick hug and ran off before we both became sobbing messes while Dad led me to the security checkpoint with all the other students and their parents to wish me a safe farewell! Twelve hours later I had landed in Belgium!
